Nine projects have successfully made it through a rigorous selection process and now have the chance to win one of the coveted awards in three categories. The TÜV AUSTRIA Science Awards will be presented on November 24.
A total of 172 submissions were received for the 14th edition of the TÜV AUSTRIA Science Award. The first round of decisions has now been made. Nine projects, involving 13 participants from universities and technical colleges (HTLs), particularly impressed the expert jury. With the publication of the shortlist, the candidates have reached an important milestone on their way to this year’s TÜV AUSTRIA Science Award.

In the category “Universities – Doctoral Theses”, DI Dr. Fikret Bašić (Graz University of Technology), DI Dr. Alexander Legenstein (Montanuniversität Leoben), and DI Dr. Gerald Singer (Graz University of Technology) prevailed against strong scientific competition.
In the category “Universities/Universities of Applied Sciences – Diploma/Master’s Theses”, DI Daniel May (TU Wien), DI Burcu Taspinar (Johannes Kepler University Linz), and DI Mario Wedl (TU Wien) were nominated.
In the category “HTL Final Projects”, the graduate teams from HTL Hallein – Dominic Unterkirchner and Christian Bodenstein – as well as Timon Germin and Timo Perzi from HTL Hollabrunn, are celebrating their nominations. Also in the running are Eldian Kabashi and Jasaev Islam from the Linz Technikum.
24. November 2025 – Gala evening in the domed hall of TU Wien
The winning projects will be presented on November 24, 2025, 7.30 pm, in the Kuppelsaal at TU Wien.
15. TÜV AUSTRIA #WiPrize 2026
The TÜV AUSTRIA Science Award will also take place next year. Dissertations, diploma/master’s theses and HTL theses whose approval is not older than 2024 can be submitted.
Applications for the 15th edition of the TÜV AUSTRIA Science Award are already welcome! Submission deadline is August 26, 2026.
