A blackout is no ordinary power failure. A blackout – a sudden, supra-regional and prolonged power and infrastructure failureInthis scenario, a simultaneous failure of the power supply is to be expected in large parts of Europe. This happens within a few seconds and without warning.

Virtually all other electricity-dependent infrastructure and supply services will also fail at short notice. From telephone, internet and cash registers to heating systems, petrol stations, possibly also the water supply, wastewater disposal and much more.

TÜV AUSTRIA develops individual preparation and prevention concepts with and for companies, municipalities and institutions.

TÜV AUSTRIA also conducts specially designed exercises that help to survive blackouts without major losses.
