In which region do you need this solution?
Carbon Footprint
We support companies in calculating their carbon footprint according to international standards, with an approach tailored to their context and objectives.
- Accurately calculate the emissions of your company or products
- Respond to B2B clients requests (Scope 3) and regulatory obligations
- Build the foundation for decarbonisation strategies
Carbon Footprint Consulting: how does it work?
The calculation of the carbon footprint allows to quantify greenhouse gas emissions associated with anorganisation or a product, offering a concrete basis for strategic decisions, market demands, and reduction pathways.
The calculation can be developed according to different standards and methodologies, including GHG Protocol: and ISO standards (such as ISO 14064 and ISO 14067), to be selected depending on the context, objectives and stakeholder requirements.
Ollum offers highly specialized carbon footprint consulting, supporting the company in choosing the most correct approach and in developing the analysis, from data collection through to validation or certification, when required.
What type of carbon footprint do you require?
1. Organisation’s carbon footprint (OCF)
For measuring company’s emissions (Scope 1, 2 & 3) and supporting governance, reporting, and climate strategy needs.
Main applications:
- CSRD compliance and sustainability reporting
- ESG (EcoVadis, CDP) ratings
- Investor and fund requests (SFDR)
- Basis for decarbonisation plans and SBTi validation
2. Product Carbon Footprint (PCF)
To analyse the product life cycle emissions, in response to market demands or to support design choices.
Main applications:
- Requests from clients and supply chain
- Product development and comparison
- Environmental communication
Organisational Carbon Footprint (OCF)
An organisation’s carbon footprint is the starting point for understanding and managing corporate emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3), but above all for responding to increasingly concrete needs related to governance and the market.
This type of analysis is particularly relevant when:
- You must respond to the reporting obligations, such as CSRD or sustainability report
- You want to improve or complete an ESG rating, such as EcoVadis or CDP
- You receive requests from investors, banks or private equity funds, also with a view to SFDR
- You need a solid foundation to define a decarbonisation strategy or to start a SBTi pathway
- You are considering the ISO 14064 certification
Product Carbon Footprint (CFP)
Product carbon footprinting allows for the quantification of emissions associated with a product throughout its lifecycle, and is increasingly requested in market and supply chain contexts.
This type of analysis is useful when:
- A client requests data on product emissions
- You want to compare alternative solutions or improve environmental performance during the design phase
- You need to support environmental communication activities or Product placement
- You are considering the ISO 14067 certification
Calculating the carbon footprint: what are the benefits?
The Calculation of the Carbon Footprint not only measure your company’s environmental impact in terms of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), but also allows you to identify opportunities for improvement. Relying on our consultants to calculate the carbon footprint of your organisation or product can lead to benefits both in both the short and long term, making your company more sustainable and competitive.
See some of them:
Identify the main sources of emissions
Calculating the carbon footprint allows us to understand where emissions are concentrated across business processes or product life cycles. This helps to identify the most critical areas and to intervene in a targeted manner.
Respond to clients, investors, and regulators
There is a growing demand for emissions data, both at a corporate and product level. The carbon footprint helps to meet requests related to supply chains, ESG ratings, CSRD reporting obligations, and investor demands.
Support technical and strategic decisions
Having structured data on emissions allows for the comparison of alternatives, improvement of products and processes, and a more informed steering of company choices.
Build the foundation for decarbonisation
The carbon footprint represents the starting point for defining emission reduction strategies, climate targets, and pathways such as SBTi or decarbonisation plans.
What standards does the Carbon Footprint follow?
Our carbon footprint calculation consultants use the main international standards. In particular, for measuring the’organisation’s carbon footprint we use the GHG Protocol: or the standard ISO 14064-1:, depending on the context. Instead, for the calculation of product carbon footprint we use the ISO 14067, which adopts the approach of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), i.e. an analysis of the life cycle of a specific product, from extraction of raw materials to final disposal.
