Solution: Certification of waste management companies
TÜV AUSTRIA certification of waste management companies in Austria
Information on
Companies that deal with the collection, transportation, storage and treatment of waste can be certified as waste management companies.
Certification requires compliance with the requirements for a specialist waste management company, which are defined by the Association of Waste Management Companies (VEFB). These regulations on the requirements for specialised waste management companies (RAEF regulations) ensure that certified companies comply with special quality, environmental and legal requirements.
TÜV AUSTRIA is approved by the VEFB as an expert for auditing waste disposal companies in Austria. The certificate is issued by the VEFB after the audit in an advisory board meeting and is valid for three years. Maintenance of the certificate is ensured by annual surveillance audits. The required minimum audit periods are determined by the VEFB. The EFB (Entsorgungsfachbetrieb = specialised waste management company) logo can then be used as a quality mark.
Requirements
In the course of the audit, the requirements of the RAEF regulations and the specifications of the EFB checklist are checked. Some of these requirements include
- the keeping of a company diary
- proof of sufficient personnel capacities and qualifications
- adequate insurance cover
- proof of compliance with the applicable legal regulations
- proof of the reliability and sufficient qualifications of the management
