Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
Your Key to Safe and Reliable Products
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is a critical quality factor for all electrical and electronic devices. Interference from electromagnetic fields can lead to malfunctions and compromise the reliability of your products. For manufacturers, developers, and operators of electrical and electronic devices, machines, and systems, compliance with legal limits for immunity is therefore essential—both for the safety of your customers and for your legal protection. TÜV AUSTRIA is accredited according to a wide range of national and international standards and offers you comprehensive EMC measurements, from product development through to market launch.
You benefit from state-of-the-art technology combined with the widest range of testing options—all from a single source. Simply safe.
When and why is an EMC test recommended?
Our experts guide you from the initial idea through to demonstrating compliance. Even in the early stages of product development, we identify opportunities for optimization so that you can save time and money and bring your products to market safely, in compliance with standards, and successfully. The earlier EMC criteria are incorporated into product development, the more efficient, cost-effective, and faster the product launch will be. However, even for devices that have already been developed, appropriate measures can be taken if necessary to accommodate changes in operating or environmental conditions.

Our EMC anechoic chamber is a multifunctional testing facility designed to evaluate the radiated emission and immunity characteristics of devices, systems, and components. It provides the space and technical capabilities for comprehensive measurements—ranging from small devices to large machines, with measurement ranges from 0 Hz to 140 GHz and field strengths exceeding 100 V/m.
EMC measurements are becoming increasingly important as the number of wireless networks and technologies grows. We are accredited to perform exposure assessments in accordance with occupational safety requirements and personal protection guidelines.
As a Notified Body (NOBO), we are authorized to certify products in accordance with the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and issue type examination certificates —a crucial step in your conformity assessment process.
