Minister of Economics & Digitization Margarete Schramböck honors TÜV AUSTRIA Services, the largest subsidiary of the TÜV AUSTRIA Group, with the award of the State Coat of Arms.

In 2022, the independent TÜV AUSTRIA, Austria's only TÜV, will celebrate its 150th anniversary. Before the start of this anniversary year, company subsidiary TÜV AUSTRIA SERVICES GMBH is greatly honoured to have received such a high state award. The use of the national coat of arms in business dealings is a nice sign of recognition of "extraordinary achievements around the Austrian economy" as the Federal Ministry Republic of Austria Digital and Economic Affairs informs.

Stefan Haas, CEO of TÜV AUSTRIA Group and Managing Director of TÜV AUSTRIA Services, explains: "Every day, our employees ensure that industrial companies, manufacturing businesses and infrastructure service providers can carry out their activities with a high level of security. In the ongoing crisis with its economic challenges, the high-quality products, services, digital learning offerings as well as classroom courses and seminars have accompanied Austria's economy: "TÜV AUSTRIA does not define itself by a limited range of testing services, we support companies in their digital transformation," explains Christoph Wenninger, CFO of TÜV AUSTRIA Group and second Managing Director of TÜV AUSTRIA Services, with a certain pride about the recognition of the team performance of the employees by the state award. Haas adds that technical safety proved to be a decisive competitive factor during the pandemic: "TÜV AUSTRIA helps companies to fulfill their social responsibility. The Federal Coat of Arms is our incentive for the future."

150 years of TÜV AUSTRIA - Living the Future

TÜV AUSTRIA Services is already living the future for its customers today. Modern testing and inspection services are also always a result of our own research activities. The Technology & Innovation Center in Vienna has long since developed into a respectable research and innovation location for the entire Group with testing, inspection and research environments for product safety, automotiveand e-mobility, materials technology, environmental technology and digital testing services. The company's own expertise is complemented by know-how from partners in science and research, among them the Technical Universities in Vienna and Graz or the Johannes Kepler University Linz, with which TÜV AUSTRIA realized the world's first certification program for artificial intelligence (AI) applications.

This milestone in AI research is proof of TÜV AUSTRIA's future orientation, as laid down in its founding statutes in 1872: "We bring the spirit of research and practical knowledge to a common denominator in our laboratories," knows Stefan Haas, who created an independent Innovation Division for the Group in 2014. As the Research, Development and Innovation Division, it now works together with the operating units on holistic solutions for the tasks of the future: Digitalization, decarbonization and decentralization.

In 2022, TÜV AUSTRIA will celebrate its 150th anniversary by "Living the Future". In the past lies the spark of the future, Stefan Haas notes in reference to the determination of founder and TU Vienna professor Adam Freiherr von Burg to bring an independent testing organization into being: "For ten years, Prof. von Burg strove to establish our current group of companies. What began with a stroke of the pen on June 11, 1872, will continue to be part of the development of technology and society tomorrow. In the post-digital age, count on TÜV AUSTRIA".

Today's TÜV AUSTRIA was founded on June 11, 1872 in Vienna as Dampfkesseluntersuchungs- und Versicherungsgesellschaft a. G. (Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company) and today comprises 55 companies in 27 countries with a total of +2,500 employees*.

TÜV AUSTRIA Services is the largest subsidiary and, together with TÜV AUSTRIA Academy and TÜV AUSTRIA Cert, the third company in the TÜV AUSTRIA Group to receive a state award from the Republic of Austria.
