Energy Audit
In which region do you need this solution?
Energy Audit
We support you carrying out an energy audit to understand your energy consumption and define targeted efficiency measures.
- Analyse your company’s energy consumption through an in-depth energy audit
- Identify inefficiencies, reducing energy costs
- Meet regulatory obligations (DEE Directive) and retain the incentives for energy-intensive businesses
Energy audit consulting for energy-intensive businesses
The energy auditis an in-depth analysis of the energy consumption and use of a company, building, or industrial plant.
This type of analysis aims to find energy-saving opportunities, identifying the main waste and inefficiencies.
Our energy audit consultants find solutions to improve energy efficiency by means of advanced calculations, which make it possible to reduce costs, optimising resources and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions.
The new EU Directive 2023/1791 will make the compulsory energy audit for all companies with annual energy consumption of more than 10 TJ.
Why rely on an energy audit consultant?
Relying on an energy audit consultant allows for proper management of regulatory obligations and the identification of concrete interventions to reduce consumption and costs, transforming data into effective actions:
Less waste, more efficiency
Carrying out an energy audit allows you to identify areas of inefficiency in energy consumption of your company, allowing you to intervene with targeted solutions. Improving energy efficiency means saving costs, optimise the use of resources, reduce waste and implement better performing technologies. This contributes to improving the company’s competitiveness, reducing environmental impact and getting closer to sustainability goals.
Regulatory compliance (DEE directive)
The new EU Directive 2023/1791 introduces new energy efficiency obligations, making compulsory energy audit for companies with a annual consumption exceeding 10 TJ Considering all energy vectors. SMEs are still encouraged to carry out an energy audit on a voluntary basis. Furthermore, energy-intensive companies can obtain reductions on energy bills, as long as they have an energy diagnosis or are committed to having one within the reporting year.
Solid foundation for emission reduction
Energy audit represents the basis for defining Concrete emission reduction measures, enabling companies to embark on decarbonisation pathways and improve their environmental performance in a structured way. Furthermore, consumption analysis makes it possible to identify areas with the greatest impact and plan targeted actions, integrating energy efficiency and ESG objectives.
Which companies are required to have an energy audit?
Currently, energy performance certification is mandatory in Italy for large enterprises and energy-intensive enterprises in accordance with Legislative Decree 102/2014, with update requested every four years next deadline: 5 December 2027).
With the entry into force of EU Directive 2023/1791 (DEE), the obligation is extended to companies with high energy consumption: above 10 TJ per year, an energy audit is required, while above 85 TJ an energy management system (ISO 50001) is required.
SMEs too, while not obliged, can obtain concrete benefits in terms of reducing energy costs, while energy-intensive companies must carry out the audit to qualify for incentives.
What steps does our energy audit consulting involve?
1. Planning and Data Collection
In this initial phase, Ollum consultants will establish the objectives of the project. They identify the sites to be analysed, define the objectives of the audit, and collect data on company energy consumption, including relevant plant performance and historical consumption data. Where necessary, they will install monitoring instruments.
2. Energy data analysis
The collected data is processed and analysed, identifying energy performance indicators (KPIs). By comparing the results of the analysis with industry benchmarks, we identify areas with opportunities for improvement and energy optimisation.
3. Energy Audit and Submission to ENEA
The energy audit report is produced on the basis of the previous analysis, in accordance with current regulations. The report is sent to the ENEA platform, a mandatory requirement for large companies and energy users.
4. Energy Efficiency Plan
Based on the analysis, Ollum proposes an action plan with specific interventions to improve energy efficiency, reduce consumption, and optimise business processes.
