Verification activities
Verifications in accordance with the EU ETS (Emission Allowances Act, EZG)
The verification body of TÜV AUSTRIA carries out verifications in accordance with the EU ETS, in particular taking into account the national implementation for Austria (Emission Allowance Act, EZG) using the EN ISO/IEC 17029:2019 and EN ISO 14065:2020 standards.
Verification can be offered not only in Austria, but also throughout the EU.
To this end, the EU has adopted guidelines on trading in greenhouse gas emission allowances, which have been transposed into national law in Austria since 2004 by means of the Emission Allowances Act (EZG). As part of the implementation process, national allocation plans with proposals for greenhouse gas emission allowances in the individual sectors were drawn up and submitted to the Commission.
Austrian industry must implement the obligations set out in the EZG by means of annual emission reporting and the return of emission certificates. Highly qualified employees of TÜV AUSTRIA are available to companies as an independent testing facility.
