TÜV AUSTRIA inspection in accordance with § 134 WRG (Water Resources Act) - Austrian regulation
Information
Every facility approved under water law must be inspected every 5 years to ensure the effectiveness of the measures taken to protect water bodies, in particular the tightness of containers and pipes.
A separate request by the authorities is not required (obligation of the operator).
Please note: Inspections by the authorities do not replace this statutory inspection obligation!
In principle, the water law notices and the associated submission documents (plans, technical descriptions, etc.) form the basis for the inspection activity described.
Key topics
- Approval status: It must be checked whether the plants, facilities, and buildings approved under water law still exist as they were approved.
- Requirements: It must be checked whether the requirements specified in the water law notices are being complied with.
Water law provisions: The legislator has regulated a large number of safety and environmental requirements for your - water law-approved plants and facilities in regulations (e.g., AAEV, IEVO, branch-specific EVO, and many more). Knowledge and relevance of these regulations, taking into account transitional provisions, bring this topic to the forefront of the audit pursuant to Section 134 (4) WRG.
