ISO 14067 Certification
In which region do you need this solution?
ISO 14067 Certification
We can help you obtain ISO 14067 certification for your Product Carbon Footprint (PCF).
- Respond to international clients and supply chain requests requiring ISO 14067 certification
- Avoid exclusions from tenders and supplies where a verified product carbon footprint is required
- Identify the main sources of emission for your product and build effective reduction strategies.
ISO 14067 certification consulting
ISO 14067 is the international standard for Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculation and communication. It is based on the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach, but focuses on a single environmental impact category: climate change.
It allows companies to quantify greenhouse gas emissions associated with the life cycle of a product and to obtain ISO 14067 certification following verification by an independent third-party body.
Ollum offers consulting services for ISO 14067 certification and supports businesses in developing their study, collecting data, and preparing for certification. Specifically, we offer support in the following areas:
- Definition of the study perimeter and data collection
- Calculation of the Product Carbon Footprint according to ISO 14067
- Preparation for verification by the independent third party
- Support in the interpretation and strategic use of results
The ISO 14067 certification is often explicitly requested from clients, international supply chains, public tenders and private bids, especially when it is necessary to clearly and verifiably demonstrate the climate impact of a product.
What are the advantages of ISO 14067 certification?
Implementing and certifying the Product Carbon Footprint according to ISO 14067 can bring several advantages to companies, including:
Respond to clients and supply chain requests
Increasingly, companies are requesting certified product emission data from their suppliers. ISO 14067 allows for a clear, verified, and internationally recognised response.
Access public tenders and international markets
ISO 14067 certification is often required in public tenders and private tenders, facilitating entry into new supply chains and regulated markets.
Identify areas for emission reduction
Product Carbon Footprint calculation allows for the identification of the most impactful life cycle phases and the definition of concrete decarbonisation actions.
What steps does our ISO 14067 consulting involve?
The consulting support aimed at obtaining ISO 14067 certification and its management follows these steps:
1. Initial analysis and perimeter definition
We analyse the product and the business context to define the objectives of the study and the perimeter Product Carbon Footprint.
2. Data collection and Carbon Footprint calculation
We support the company in data collection and emissions calculation according to the requirements of the ISO 14067 standard.
3. Preparation for certification
We prepare the documentation and support the company in the verification process required for certification by the independent third-party body.
4. Support for the improvement and use of results
We assist the company in interpreting the results and developing emission reduction strategies.
ISO 14067 or EPD?
In some cases, customers generically request “the environmental impact of the product” without specifying whether an EPD needs to be developed or a Product Carbon Footprint certified according to ISO 14067.
In these cases, the ISO 14067 can represent a more flexible solution, especially when no reference PCR exists to develop an EPD.
Unlike EPDs, ISO 14067 also does not impose homogeneity constraints between products: while the EPD multi-product require that the variation between included products is less than 10% on all environmental indicators, With ISO 14067, it is possible to certify any product in your portfolio independently, regardless of differences in composition or performance.
It can also represent a strategic first step: it allows for a rapid response to market demands, while simultaneously building the data and methodological foundations for Develop an EPD at a later stage.
