Distinction Between Maintenance and Inspection

• TÜV AUSTRIA does not perform maintenance on fire alarm systems. This maintenance is carried out by specialized companies that are certified and authorized for these systems, or by the manufacturers of the respective systems.
• Acceptance testing: For fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, smoke and heat exhaust systems, pressurized ventilation systems, and gas extinguishing systems, an acceptance test is required for new installations. In the past, this was required by an accredited testing body. Since 2018, the technical guidelines have only required the “acceptance body” on a gradual basis.
