Application-specific seminars for fire safety officers (often referred to as N1, N2, N3) are specialized training courses in Austria that are mandatory for fire safety officers under TRVB 117 O if their workplace involves specific risks or hazards.
Every company required to train a fire safety officer falls into one of these three categories.
- N1 with special risk to persons
- N2 with increased fire risk
- N3 with special hazards
This training must be completed within two years of finishing the 3-day fire safety officer training course.
This regulation is based on TRVB 117
- N1: Fire safety in facilities with a high risk to occupants:Relevant for locations where there are many people who cannot evacuate on their own or who are unfamiliar with the layout (e.g., schools, hotels, hospitals, nursing homes).
- N2: Fire safety in facilities with an increased fire risk:Covers locations where highly flammable materials or processes are present (e.g., wood processing, chemical plants).
- N3: Fire protection in facilities with special hazards: Aimed at facilities with specific risks not covered by N1 or N2 (e.g., underground parking garages, large warehouses).
