TÜV AUSTRIA Recognised as CertifHy Certification Body

TÜV AUSTRIA further strengthens its role as a competent and independent partner for the certification of renewable hydrogen and e‑fuels in the European market.

The CertifHy EU RFNBO Scheme is a certification system recognised by the European Commission that ensures compliance with the requirements of the EU Renewable Energy Directive (RED II/III). The focus is on renewable fuels of non‑biological origin (RFNBOs), in particular hydrogen and its derivatives, which play a key role in the decarbonisation of industry and transport.

Certification provides a reliable proof that production processes and supply chains meet strict requirements regarding sustainability, greenhouse gas emissions and traceability. At the same time, it creates the necessary basis for access to European markets as well as to funding and incentive schemes.

With this recognition, TÜV AUSTRIA is authorised to carry out audits and certifications in accordance with the CertifHy EU RFNBO Standard. Companies are thus able to validate their projects in line with regulatory requirements and obtain the sustainability evidence required to participate in the rapidly growing European hydrogen market.
