The range of services for commercial customers includes the testing, monitoring and approval of motor vehicles and their components. TÜV AUSTRIA Automotive experts support manufacturers in this process in order to prove compliance with the relevant regulations to the type approval authority.
We offer several testing services to obtain type approval:
- Vehicle type approval (EU, ECE)
- Single vehicle approval (national)
- Exhaust systems, e.g. retrofit silencers for motorbikes
- Chassis components, e.g. shock absorbers
- Brake components, e.g. brake discs, brake lines
- Exterior add-on parts, e.g. aerodynamic add-on parts such as spoilers
- Components in the wheel and wheel arch area, e.g. wheels, spacer discs
- Audits (GRA) required for obtaining approvals (verification and CoP information)

Test tracks
For vehicle testing, we have access to a wide variety of test tracks as required:
- Own TÜV AUSTRIA test track in Pferdsfeld in co-operation with TRIWO Automotive Testing GmbH (Germany, near Frankfurt)
- Access to the TRIWO test centre (see https://www.triwo-testcenter.de/)
- Engineering Center Steyr in St. Valentin (Austria, near Linz)
- ZalaZONE (Hungary, see here)
- Various test tracks in Turkey, China, etc. available on request.
For testing prototypes or test vehicles on proving grounds, our test engineers have the necessary driving training (e.g. FT1) and correspondingly extensive experience and testing practice.
