Shanghai, China–April 23, 2024
TÜV AUSTRIA SHANGHAI granted Wuxi Shouchuang Printing & Packaging Co., Ltd. with the OK Recycled Content Certification at the Chinaplas 2024 Exhibition. The certification, based on the UNE-EN 15343:2008, has been conducted through the joint-effort of TÜV AUSTRIA SHANGHAI and TÜV AUSTRIA IBERIA, validating the use of recycled plastics in Wuxi Shouchuang’s plastic bag production, and reflecting the company’s environmental commitment.

Presenting the certification, Mr. Ivan Huang, Managing Director of TÜV AUSTRIA SHANGHAI, praised Wuxi Shouchuang’s milestone, noting its compliance with the EU’s progressive plastic regulations. He said, “This certification is a significant step in sustainable development, particularly crucial amidst the EU’s stringent plastic policies.”

The certification helps companies demonstrate compliance with recycling standards, potentially easing the impact of plastic taxes. Authorized by the Spanish National Accreditation Body (ENAC), it offers an exemption from the Spanish plastic tax, enhancing business competitiveness.

Receiving the certificate, Mr. Zhao Xiaofeng, General Manager of Wuxi Shouchuang, expressed his appreciation and affirmed the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and regulatory compliance, including the EU’s circular economy goals for plastic packaging by 2030.

TÜV AUSTRIA, with nearly 30 years of expertise in third-party technical solutions for the sustainable packaging industry since 1995, offers a comprehensive suite of sustainability services. This includes certifications such as OK Recycled Content, OK Compost/Biodegradable, and OK Biobased, along with assessments for carbon footprint and Greenhouse gas emissions. End of Year Commentary & Outlook 2026
“We need optimism!”
by Dr. Stefan Haas, CEO TÜV AUSTRIA Group
In times of multiple crises, it is natural to be cautious, perhaps even pessimistic. In Austria in particular, people tend to see the glass as half empty rather than half full. However, if governments, companies and private individuals are pessimistic, there will be no more investment, neither in infrastructure, industrial plants nor private consumption. The inevitable consequence is that pessimism then becomes reality and there is a lack of impetus for economic recovery.
