Assistance system

Small batch sizes and faster production cycles lead to higher information densities and more complex tasks, resulting in a higher workload and stress for employees. With the help of assistance systems, it is possible to reduce the stress caused by heavy physical and complex cognitive tasks for employees.

A distinction is made between physical and cognitive work systems. The former deals with mechanical or motorised power assistance, personalised workstations and collaborative robot systems, among other things. Cognitive work systems, on the other hand, offer an application-orientated and near-real-time provision of information for employees.

Physical and collaborative assistance systems

As one of the core areas of physical assistance systems, collaborative robotics has become an integral part of Industry 4.0. In collaborative operation, employees work in close proximity to and hand in hand with various robot systems. Taking into account the requirements of ISO/TS 15066, physical contact between humans and robots is possible, making the use of safety fences partially obsolete.
