In mid-May, the official opening of TÜV AUSTRIA’s regional headquarters in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia took place in Riyadh.
New opening in Riyadh as a sign of quality and safety
TÜV AUSTRIA focuses on SASO (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization) conformity certificates in Riyadh. Certification of SFDA (Saudi Food and Drug Authority) conformity in the areas of cosmetics, food, and medical equipment is also part of TÜV AUSTRIA’s service portfolio in Saudi Arabia.
With the new regional headquarters in Riyadh, Saudia Arabia, the independent Austrian corporate group contributes to the positive economic development of Saudi Arabia .

During the opening celebrations, TÜV AUSTRIA CEO Dr. Stefan Haas, as well as Executive Vice President for Asia and Africa, Yankı Ünal, visited the new location in Riyadh. The Austrian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Oskar Wüstinger, along with a delegation including Trade Counselor Christoph Pfeifer, were also present. The presence of these representatives of the Republic contributes to strengthening the relationship between the two nations and underscores the importance of cooperation.
TÜV AUSTRIA was pleased to welcome other important guests from various organizations at the opening, including Fahad Alkuaik, Vice-Governor for Business Support of SASO, Alhassan Hamidaldin, Ministry of Investment Director of Regional Headquarter Outreach, Dr. Adel Alkaied, CEO of the Saudi Accreditation Center (SAC), as well as Hassaan Alwohaibi, Badr Alabdullatif, and Abdulrahman Alenezi, Quality Manager of the National Information Center – Saudi Arabia. Their presence highlights the importance of cooperation between industry leaders and regulatory authorities.
With this new step, TÜV AUSTRIA reaffirms its commitment to quality, innovation, and long-term partnerships. With one goal: to promote progress, shape a successful future, and achieve positive changes in both regional and international environments.

In times of multiple crises, it is natural to be cautious, perhaps even pessimistic. In Austria in particular, people tend to see the glass as half empty rather than half full. However, if governments, companies and private individuals are pessimistic, there will be no more investment, neither in infrastructure, industrial plants nor private consumption. The inevitable consequence is that pessimism then becomes reality and there is a lack of impetus for economic recovery.

In Burkina Faso, half of the population lives below the poverty line and permanent jobs are rare – at the same time, there is a shortage of skilled workers. Girls and women are particularly affected. TÜV AUSTRIA has been supporting the construction of the technical school Lycée Technique Béthel de Nanoro since 2019 and donated €15,000 again this year.
